About me:
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Classical Guitar Performance where I received both music and academic scholarships and was an Aquinas Honors Scholar.
While attending, I toured the Midwest with the University of St. Thomas Guitar Ensemble and recorded an album. My instructors included such names as Anthony Titus, Chris Kachian, Joan Griffith and flamenco guitarist Michael Hauser. I continued my studies as a Master's Candidate at the University of Minnesota with Jeffrey Van. I was selected to perform at Master's classes conducted by Sharon Isbin, Lily Afshar, Clare Callahan, and Renato Butturi.
Since moving to the Seattle area in 2003, I have been active as a freelance performer playing for weddings, restaurants, and special events. I perform as a soloist, but also work with violinist Jana Boersema as part of the Cedarsounds Duo (www.Cedarsounds.com).
I have 15 years of experience as a guitar instructor, teaching all ages in both Suzuki and traditional styles.
